"Life is change," says one of Germany's most charming football bloggers, Stefanie Fiebrig of textilvergehen.de. She's one of the members of jury for tonight's Shortkicks Gala short-film competition - a fine choice since she's been following 11mm Festival's concluding event for years.
Unfortunately, illness means that referee Knut Kircher and former Germany goalkeeper Katja Kraus won't be able to take part. But there will still be plenty of big names on hand. The jury includes Wolfsburg defender, Marcel Schäfer, Cottbus midfielder Torsten Mattuschka, director Aljoscha Pause (Tom meets Zizou, Udo Lattek), the man who discovered the oldest German football film Thomas Staisch, a member of Hertha Berlin (to be chosen on the basis of today's practice session) and actress and singer Marleen Lohse. Lohse, too, is under the weather but will be performing nonetheless with her band Unsereins. We call that sacrificing oneself for the good of the team!
There has also been a minor change to our program. "Am Borigplatz geboren" + "Die 19. Mannschaft der Budesliga" and "Messi (The Movie)" will now be shown in Kino 2, while "Das Mädchen - Was geschah mit Elisabeth K." + "WM-Sieg unter Folter" und "Fortunas Legenden" move to Saal 3. The start times remain the same.
