With six high-quality documentaries, England is playing a leading role at this year’s 11mm. The festival kicks off with GOAL!, which revisits the so-called “phantom goal” at the 1966 World Cup final in Wembley.

A further highlight from football’s mother country is GASCOIGNE (Jane Preston), which celebrates its German premiere. In attendance will be David Howells, a former teammate of Gazza, who will be offering his own personal take on the former enfant terrible of English football.

The films I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (Jonny Owen), JACK TO A KING (Marc Evans) and SPIRIT OF ‘58 (Evan Marshall) will be making their German debuts while UNDERHILL (Simon Emmett, Anthony Shurmer) will enjoy its world premiere.
