Fast 20 Jahre warteten die Fußballfans in Philadelphia darauf, dass auch in ihrer Stadt ein Team der US-amerikanischen Major League Soccer (MLS) gegründet wird. Dann nehmen sie die Sache selbst in die Hand. Sie gründen einen eigenen Fanclub, die „Sons of Ben“, besuchen lautstark fremde Stadien und gewinnen immer mehr Anhänger, bis auch die Behörden und die Ligaverantwortlichen nicht mehr an ihnen vorbeikommen.
Ten years after the start of the MLS, football fans in Philadelphia were still waiting for a team. A small group of die-hard soccer fans took matters into their own hands and formed a supporters club for a team that didn’t exist. The Sons of Ben had one goal – bring professional soccer to Philadelphia – and they would not be ignored.
